Ora Organic x The Vitamin Shoppe

Last weekend  I was lucky enough to be invited to Brooklyn Grange to celebrate the new Ora Organic products finally launching at The Vitamin Shoppe. The rooftop farm is one of the largest rooftop soil farms in the US. They have all the fresh organic produce a plant-based girl needs.

I loved the venue SO much! I mean, the view, the smell, the lighting, literally – I might want to have my future wedding here !I was in my right element. Sorry for the hype, but this is one of the nicer events I’ve attended. The view that met us when we walked out the door on the roof was just breathtaking, the Manhattan skyline showing itself from its best side. To get to the main area of the roof (the bar),  you had to walk between tall sunflowers and bright green kale.

The cocktail menu included 4 drinks that all had the Ora Organic products in them, so the drinks were healthy(ish)! Image how easy it would be to take your supplements if they came in good drinks like this every time? I wish… In the meantime, I will just use their products in my smoothies.

I had the “Shiso Fine” cocktail, and I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about their drinks, they literally looked too healthy. BUT, it was amazing! I actually ended up having two of them… Max, their bartender was an award-winning cocktail specialist, so I guess that had something to do with the spectacular taste.

It was an intimate dinner, we were probably around 30 people, so I felt very privileged to be there. It was a three-course meal, salad for the appetizer, the entre was combined of a bunch of different things, summer squash rolls, roasted eggplant, peppered farro, and other small options, the dessert was a tartar with fresh berries etc. Most of the ingredients were from the farm, so it was super fresh.

I also met some really cool people, the guests and event organizers were all very sweet. It was fun to be surrounded by like-minded people, who share a lot of the same values as me. The girl in the picture above is Ally – @hellokalequeen, she is a plant-powered digital storyteller ♥

To sum it all up, this was a well-organized event that went beyond my expectations. Also, look at all the great products we got, I’m going to use this is my smoothies every day! Super excited to try the different flavors. The event was held at a good hour too, so we got to see the most beautiful sunset. If you want to see more from the event, visit @ora.organic and @vitaminshoppe on Instagram.

Side note: I’m really happy that plant-based and organic products are becoming more popular and getting more publicity. Let’s be real, going vegan is one of the top things you can do to lower your carbon footprint. It’s all about being open-minded, I’m not saying you have to go vegan overnight, but every small thing you do helps. Start with meatless Monday and at the same time try to educate yourself on top of that, watch something easy and accessible like Forks over Knives, Cowspiracy, or Earthling. Good luck!
